Foresters and KaBOOM! partner with Greenspoint community to build a 2,500 square foot playground on September 19
News Facts
  • More than 200 volunteers from the Greenspoint community will work together to build this 2,500 square foot playground.
  • More than 14,400 pounds of concrete will be mixed by hand to build the playground, weighing more than the weight of 24 adult tigers!
  • Volunteers will move more than 42,120 square feet of safety surfacing during the build – enough to cover nearly 9 NBA-sized basketball courts!
  • Nearly 100 rakes, cement hoes, wheelbarrows, shovels step ladders, push brooms and other assorted tools will be used to build the playground.
  • The playground will serve more than 7,500 children, including several features designed specifically for children with special needs: ABC & 123 panel, Accessible Driving panel, Adventure Bridge, Audible Drum panel, Helix Climber, Horizontal Loop Ladder, Inclined Cliff Hanger, Rock Blocks Climber, Slide-N-Learn panel, Transfer Station, Twist and Shout Slide.
